The excitement mounts as we tick the days off until the Camberley International Festival gets under way next week!
The festival comes with the full backing of Surrey Heath Borough Council, with the council’s Chief Executive, Karen Whelan saying:
‘We are proud that Camberley is able to showcase such fantastic internationally renowned talent. The Camberley International Festival promises to be a vibrant celebration throughout the town centre and we would like to thank our local community for their continued support. The Festival’s varied programme offers something for everyone and reinforces Camberley’s status in the region.’
Surrey Heath’s portfolio holder for business, Cllr Craig Fennell added:
‘The Camberley International Festival is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy some of the very best local performers alongside international concerts of the highest standard. It is great to see Camberley Theatre provide such a platform and to be at the hub of this exciting new addition to the arts.’
The festival opens with a performance from multi-award winning folk band, Lau at Camberley Theatre on June 1st.
Support on the evening comes from Richard J. Birkin
We would also like to take the opportunity of thanking our sponsors, The Best Print, who have this to say about the CIF:
‘We are delighted to be sponsoring the Camberley International Festival, which is great for the local community. The Best Print can’t wait to get involved in the events throughout the festival and seeing all of the talents showcased. What a creative and exciting way of celebrating 50 Years of Camberley Theatre.’
The Best Print have provided us with our lovely little festival brochures – if you haven’t been lucky enough to get hold of one for yourself (they are still available from Camberley Theatre box office), here’s an on-line version…
Have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend and hopefully see you at one or two or three or four …..of our wonderful events between June 1 – 11th! X
