Well, that moment when we write about the LAST DAY of the 2017 Camberley International Festival is upon us. We’ve had a wild, funny, musical, tiring, inspiring, brilliant ten days, but, as a wise man once said, ‘all good things must come to an end’.
What better way to end this very good thing than by parading through Camberley and then end up at the London Road Recreation Ground for a sun soaked afternoon of fun?
There will be drop in art workshops at Camberley Theatre from 10am this morning for anyone wishing to make something colourful to wave on the parade route. The Big Art will be hosting this workshop – they will also have a marquee at the London Road Rec with a large canvas white elephant who needs colouring in!
The procession will leave from outside Surrey Heath House on the Knoll Road at noon and then head to the High Street, before marching passed the train station and heading towards the Rec. Once there, and do feel free to join us at anytime this afternoon, even if you don’t make the procession, there will be a licensed bar, food and lots of activities.
We even have a marquee packed with retro computer games including Atari and Nintendo (and many more) for young and not so young to play on!
The Farnborough Concert Band of the Royal British Legion will play during the afternoon and we will be treated to various displays from local gymnastic and theatre groups. All over a chilled drink, some green grass and a blue sky.
It’s what June was made for.
It runs until 5pm.
See you there!
